Baffling Nick Sirianni Job Security Report Emerges Before Playoffs
The Philadelphia Eagles currently sit at 13-3 and are set to have a home playoff game on wild-card weekend. Their dominance this season is a far cry from the end of last season when they finished the campaign 1-5 and got bounced in the wild-card round. Nevertheless, it seems that people within the NFL are questioning head coach Nick Sirianni's job security if the Eagles get eliminated in the Wild Card round again.
In an article that was published Thursday by ESPN's Dan Graziano and Jeremy Fowler, this possibility was brightened up. Fowler said, "Nick Sirianni has quieted the preseason noise with the Eagles’ 13-3 season. Would a first-round playoff exit reignite talks about his job status? It’s hard to say, but it’s a question some people around the league are wondering."
Eagles News: Questions About Nick Sirianni's Job Security Return With Playoffs Ahead
Heading into the 2024 season, questioning Sirianni's job security made some sense. Even though he was 34-17 in the regular season and he is 2-3 in the playoffs with a Super Bowl appearance, the Eagles' epic collapse last season warranted the question.
During the collapse, it seemed that Sirianni had lost the locker room and his relationship with Jalen Hurts. Yet this year, Hurts and Sirianni seem to be back on the same page even after early season issues.
Despite that, Sirianni was seen getting into verbal altercations with fans during games this season. At the time, that wasn't a good look for him, but with all the winning, that anger toward him has died down.
Moreover, a small rift seemed to be forming late in the season between A.J. Brown and Hurts. Many feared this could be the downfall of the Eagles this season. Thankfully, that seems to have worked itself out potentially with the help of Sirianni.
The fact that people within the NFL are questioning Sirianni's job security after at least a 13-win season is crazy. Sure, a first-round exit would be a massive disappointment, but that seems unlikely with how good the team has been playing.
If Sirianni does indeed get fired it would certainly come as a shock to most fans around the NFL.
