The Philadelphia Eagles are headed to the Super Bowl after a one-year hiatus and to nobody's surprise, they will be facing the Kansas City Chiefs. After the dominant win over the Commanders on Sunday, the Eagles set up a re-match of Super Bowl LVII against their former head coach, Andy Reid. Nick Sirianni and co. will look to get revenge for the 38-35 loss two years ago.

Reid gave his first remarks about facing his old team after the AFC championship game. Saying that they are not done after the Bills win, Reid said they will be facing a "really good" Eagles team in two weeks, per Chiefs insider Charles Goldman.

Andy Reid Gives First Remarks on Eagles Matchup

The Chiefs continue to come through in the clutch under Andy Reid and star QB Patrick Mahomes. In another thrilling nail-biter on Sunday, the Chiefs squeezed past the Bills to make their fifth Super Bowl in six years. They are looking to be the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls.

During his 14-year tenure in Philadelphia, Reid made one Super Bowl, falling to Tom Brady and the Patriots. One of the greatest ever to do it, Reid has found immense success in Kansas City, never having a losing season in 12 years and boasting an incredible 143-53 record in that span.

This will be the sixth time Reid will be facing the Eagles. Since 2013 when Reid became the Chiefs head coach, Kansas City defeated the Eagles in four straight games including the Super Bowl, until Week 11 of the 2023 season. The 21-17 win for Philly was the first Chiefs-Eagles game Reid has ever lost as the head coach of either team.

Nick Sirianni would love to win his second straight game against Reid in New Orleans in less than two weeks. Even though Eagles fans generally root for their former head coach's success, that will certainly not be the case in Super Bowl LIX.
