The Philadelphia Eagles started the season off with a 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys. Despite securing a win, the Eagles are still looking at different ways to improve the roster as they head into Week 2.

According to Jordan Schultz, the Eagles are working out CB Mike Hilton on Monday. And if Philadelphia decides to bring him, it'll put Adoree' Jackson directly on the bench.

The Eagles had an open competition happening at CB2 all summer long, and Jackson appeared to be the winner of the battle heading into the season opener. But in Week 1, Jackson was a massive disappointment.

Across seven targets, he gave up five catches for 103 receiving yards and five first downs allowed. According to PFF, he had a 32.4 overall grade (49th among 49 graded corners), 41.8 run defense grade (44th among 49 graded corners), and 33.6 coverage grade (47th among 49 graded corners).

Jackson was getting chewed apart by CeeDee Lamb, which led to him getting benched in favor of Jakorian Bennett in the second half.

Philadelphia knows that play wasn't acceptable, and that's a big reason why Hilton is getting a look. He's an eight-year vet who's spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals. In 123 career games (56 starts), he has 520 total tackles, 56 pass deflections, 13 interceptions, and four forced fumbles.

In the 2024 season, he appeared in 16 games (10 starts) for the Bengals and was a productive player. Hilton had 73 total stops, five pass breakups, and one pick. Per PFF, he finished with a 75.8 overall grade (24th among 222 graded corners), 91 run defense grade (1st among 222 graded corners), and 68.4 coverage grade (55th among 222 graded corners).

Hilton proved to be a solid starter just last year and would be an upgrade over Jackson in the secondary. If Philly adds him, Cooper DeJean would likely bump outside. While he's played in the slot through his Eagles tenure, he played some outside corner this summer during training camp.

Philadelphia knew it was a possibility that he would need to play out there in 2025, and after Week 1, it looks like he may need to do it sooner rather than later.

The addition of Hilton would officially put Jackson on the bench, and after his Week 1 performance, that could be the right decision.
