2. Kyle Schwarber, Designated Hitter

Given his standing on the team, it would be surprising to see Schwarber play elsewhere next season, especially if he continues to produce at a high level.

The 32-year-old slugger is coming off a good 2024 season that saw him hit .248 with 38 home runs and 104 RBIs. Schwarber did a great job at the top of the Phillies’ lineup as he either hit a home run, single, or drew a walk. Schwarber drew 106 walks, which led the National League.

He’s not your prototypical lead-off hitter, but it has worked for the Phillies. Schwarber might not be in the leadoff spot often this season as manager Rob Thomson also wants to get Trea Turner in that spot.

Regardless of where you put Schwarber, he still should be able to produce in this Phillies lineup. Over his three-year stint with the Phillies, the veteran power hitter has slugged .221 with 131 home runs.

Phillies fans don’t expect a high batting average from Schwarber, but he finds a way to put a jolt into this lineup. Heading into a contract year, it will be interesting to see what Schwarber can do, as he has hit 30 or more home runs in four consecutive seasons, including 2021, where he split time with the Washington Nationals and Boston Red Sox.
