4. Kenny Pickett, QB
The Eagles decided to take a swing on Kenny Pickett when they acquired him from the Pittsburgh Steelers last offseason. The 26-year-old gunslinger's time in the Steel City hadn't gone as planned after being drafted 20th overall in 2022, and the hope was that he could get his career back playing behind Hurts in Philadelphia.
Pickett went on to make five appearances (1 start) during the regular season, with most of that work coming when Hurts was banged up in Weeks 16 and 17. His few performances left much to be desired as he only went 25-of-42 (59.5%) for 291 passing yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
While Pickett's showing wasn't totally putrid, it looks worse compared to fellow Eagles backup QB Tanner McKee. The former 2023 sixth-rounder outperformed his counterpart in two appearances, completing 66.7% of passes for 323 yards and four TD passes with a 117.2 passer rating.
Both Pickett and McKee are under contract in 2025, however, it wouldn't be surprising if the Eagles roll with the latter as their QB2. McKee is two years younger than Pickett and has already shown he has a better connection with Philadelphia's pass-catchers, which could give the ex-Stanford Cardinal an edge when training camp battles begin.
Like the Steelers, the Eagles just might not be a good fit for Pickett. If Sirianni and his staff share a similar sentiment, the struggling QB will have to find a new city to call home.
