2. Kenneth Gainwell, RB
Another long-time Eagle who's on thin ice this offseason is veteran running back Kenneth Gainwell.
Saquon Barkley's arrival in Philadelphia often phased Gainwell out of the Eagles' offensive plans in 2024. The former 2021 fifth-rounder averaged a career-low 3.9 yards across 75 carries, converting those opportunities into 290 rushing yards and one touchdown — the lowest TD total of his career after tallying a total of 11 in the three previous seasons.
Unsurprisingly, Gainwell's presence was nearly non-existent in the playoffs. The former Memphis Tiger only played 42 defensive snaps compared to 45 on specials teams as he recorded 42 rushing yards on 13 carries and 26 receiving yards on three receptions while also returning four kicks.
While some Eagles fans will always have a soft spot for Gainwell, he's far from irreplaceable. Nothing about his 2024 performance stood out, and Philadelphia could likely find better production from a free-agent option or a younger RB in the 2025 draft.
