4. Ainias Smith, WR

Smith is another player listed as inactive for the entire Eagles’ playoff run. Philadelphia has a lot of talent at the wide receiver spot, leaving no room for the rookie to get on the field.

The former fifth-round pick scored his first NFL touchdown in the Eagles’ Week 18 win over the New York Giants. Smith caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from starting QB Tanner McKee as he ran across the formation to the goal line.

Smith finished the game with four receptions (six targets) for 35 yards. The former Texas A&M standout appeared in six other games before scoring his first career touchdown in Week 18 at Lincoln Financial Field.

The rookie receiver had a slow start to the 2024 campaign as he was placed on injured reserve at the end of the preseason due to an ankle injury.

Smith was activated off injured reserve ahead of Philadelphia’s Week 8 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. He didn’t do much in the game, playing eight offensive snaps. However, it was great to see the rookie on the field.

The young receiver will likely not see the field in the Super Bowl, especially with Britain Covey potentially returning. That said, going from a fifth-round pick to the Super Bowl in your first year in the league is incredible.
