The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a championship high, but it’s now time to get to work to defend that title in 2025. The Eagles have several key free agents to lead off the offseason, but while they’ve already retained one, they may need to find replacements for the ones that leave.

There are plenty of good players on the market, but fans love a good reunion angle. This year’s class has several options to choose from and there’s a chance some of these players could find their way back to Philadelphia.

1. WR Nelson Agholor

The Eagles have plenty of talent in their top two receivers, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. But behind them has been a hole that Philadelphia has been trying to fill for years.

The latest attempt came before this season when the Eagles traded for Jahan Dotson from the Washington Commanders. A former first-round pick, Dotson represented a buy-low opportunity with upside, but he never made the impact Philadelphia had hoped for, catching 19 passes for 216 yards and no touchdowns.

Although the Eagles use tight end Dallas Goedert as the third weapon in their passing game, they would probably like to find an upgrade. Since the Eagles don’t need a top receiver, they can go a little further down the list and kick the tires on former Philadelphia wide receiver Nelson Agholor.

Agholor was the 20th overall pick in the 2015 draft and stuck around to be part of the Eagles' first Super Bowl victory in 2017. While his time may be more known for one of the funniest memes in Eagles history, he’s never reached the same success he had in Philadelphia outside of the 2020 season, where he caught 48 passes for 896 yards and eight touchdowns.

After his time with New England, Agholor spent two seasons with the New England Patriots and spent the last two years with the Baltimore Ravens. His usage continued to plummet, however, and he caught just 14 passes for 231 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games.

Agholor isn’t the dynamic receiving threat that Chip Kelly was dreaming of when he came into the league. But he could be good enough to fill in if Brown or Smith goes down with an injury. Dotson was never able to fill that role despite the upside the Eagles thought he had a year ago, and it could lead to a reunion with an Eagles weapon this spring.
