3 Eagles Who Could Follow Kellen Moore to Saints This Offseason

As the NFL offseason continues, Philadelphia Eagles fans shouldn't be surprised if these three players follow Kellen Moore to the New Orleans Saints.

3. Mekhi Becton, OG

The Saints' offensive line is also in dire need of a boost, which is why it wouldn't be surprising if Moore tried to lure Eagles offensive guard Mekhi Becton to New Orleans, too.

After spending four seasons with the New York Jets, Becton joined the Eagles on a one-year contract last offseason not too long after Moore was hired. The decision to join Philadelphia paid off for the former Louisville Cardinal as he only allowed 34 pressures while taking five penalties — down 13 calls from last year — across 1,158 snaps between the regular season and playoffs.

By the time the smoke cleared, Becton's grades for overall offense (70.7) and run blocking (70.3) on PFF were significantly higher than they were in his final year with the Jets (53.2 and 56.3, respectively). He'll be looking to capitalize on that performance when he re-enters free agency in less than two weeks.

Although it could be a coincidence, it isn't hard to see how Becton's improved performance coincided with Moore's arrival. It's possible that the ex-Eagles HC views the veteran OG as someone he can now trust and might recommend a potential signing to general manager Mickey Loomis if Moore views Becton as a clear upgrade over starting guards Lucas Patrick and/or Cesar Ruiz.

After NFL insider Albert Breer recently reported that his instinct is the Eagles will let the pending free agent walk, there appears to be a legitimate chance of Becton joining Moore in the "Big Easy" this offseason.
