3 Eagles on Thin Ice After Philadelphia’s Ugly Week 14 Win Over Panthers

Despite picking up their ninth-straight win, the Eagles hope these three players will step up and play better in the coming weeks.

3. Jahan Dotson

It’s tough to put Dotson on this list, especially with the Eagles’ passing game not clicking on Sunday, and having DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown back in the lineup.

With the Eagles not having Dallas Goedert, it’s easy to think Dotson would be utilized in the passing game against the Panthers. However, the former Commanders receiver still hasn’t gotten on track in Philadelphia.

In Sunday’s win over Carolina, Dotson only had one reception (two targets) for five yards. The former Penn State standout has produced 12 receptions (21 targets) for 122 yards this season, which is a far cry from what we saw from Dotson in his two years in the league.

That said, he was the WR2 in Washington behind Terry McLaurin. In Philadelphia, he’s the WR3 but the fifth-passing option behind Smith, Brown, Goedert/Calcaterra, and Saquon Barkley.

When the Eagles acquired Dotson in the preseason, fans hoped he would bring his deep-threat playmaking ability to Philadelphia, which he showed in Washington. However, that hasn’t shown up yet, which also falls on offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. That said, there’s still time for the former Penn State star to make an impact and hopefully score his first touchdown as an Eagle.
