2. James Bradberry, DB

The Eagles’ cornerback room could look completely different in 2025, as there’s a chance Darius Slay might not be back with the team.

In addition to Slay, the Eagles might want to consider trading Bradberry, who spent the entire season on injured reserve. The veteran cornerback was viewed as a potential cut candidate this past preseason after a disastrous 2023 season.

Opposing quarterbacks picked on Bradberry as he had a ridiculous 114.3 pass rating allowed when targeted and gave up 11 touchdowns. Bradberry’s struggles likely led the Eagles to take Mitchell and DeJean within the first two rounds of the 2024 draft.

With Bradberry on the roster bubble, the veteran defensive back switched to safety. However, he would suffer a lower leg that was only supposed to keep him out for 6-8 weeks. But the vet ended up on injured reserve for the entire season.

The 31-year-old Bradberry only has a $5.1 million cap hit for 2025, which isn’t bad for a team that needs cornerback help. Bradberry also has a potential out in his contract for 2025.

Therefore, if the Eagles decided to cut Bradberry after Jun. 1, the dead cap would be $3 million and they would save $4.7 million in cap space, per Over The Cap. The dead cap and cap space are similar if the Eagles decide to trade Bradberry.

Based on his performance in 2023, the Eagles likely won’t get anything but a Day 3 pick and/or a mid-tier player in return for Bradberry.
