3. Vance Joseph, DC, Broncos

One of the biggest things about bringing in a defense-oriented head coach candidate is you'd like to know who they will be paired with on the offensive side. While he was with the Denver Broncos as a head coach, Vance Joseph did not have the most success offensively, which became his undoing.

But the Eagles have much better player personnel than the Broncos did back then and Joseph has long been respected in NFL circles for his overall leadership qualities and how he goes about his day-to-day business.

After a 70-point debacle last year in Miami, Joseph has actually built something quite special in Denver defensively including a top-five defensive unit this season. He's been ultra-aggressive, blitzing more than any defensive coordinator in the league and maximizing the talent of a roster that was previously labeled one of the worst in the NFL.

The Broncos are elite in pass rush win rate metrics and they've seen the development of young players on that side of the ball this season under Joseph's watch.

Joseph deserves another head coaching gig after the somewhat unfair shake he got in Denver back in 2017-18, and the Eagles would present a very interesting opportunity for him.

Joseph would need to use the connections he's made through decades in the league to make the right hire offensively and sell a team on his overall operation, especially with what the Eagles have invested in Jalen Hurts and that offensive core. Nonetheless, he could be a strong candidate.
