3 Studs (and 2 Duds) from Eagles’ Narrow Week 4 Win Over Commanders
By Tyler Maher
Dud: Dallas Goedert
Is this guy ever going to show up?
Goedert has been MIA in Philly’s passing attack for the entire season, and that was true again on Sunday. He tallied just 2 catches for 25 yards and was once again held out of the end zone.
That makes four straight underwhelming games for Goedert to start the season. The veteran tight end just hasn’t been able to get going, registering 13 catches for 88 yards so far with no touchdowns.
He was always going to take a back seat to Brown and Devonta Smith, but he needs to be more involved in this. He’s supposed to be one of the better offensive tight ends in the league, but instead he’s been thoroughly mediocre in that regard.
Goedert and Hurts have been playing together since 2020, so chemistry shouldn’t be an issue at this point. It’s unclear why Hurts isn’t looking his way more often or if new OC Brian Johnson simply isn’t giving him good routes to run, but we need to get this figured out. Our offense will be even better if Goedert becomes a legitimate receiving threat again, especially in the red zone.
