Even though the Eagles started the season 2-0, it really didn’t feel like things were clicking properly until last week, when we put it all together in an impressive Monday Night Football win over the Buccaneers.

With Philly looking firmly like a Super Bowl contender again, expectations are quickly soaring, especially in our first NFC East matchup of the season.

It really feels like the sky is the limit with this team, and here are three bold predictions for Sunday’s matchup against the Washington Commanders.

Eagles vs. Commanders: Bold Predictions for Week 4

1. D’Andre Swift is Held Under 50 Yards Rushing

I’m all in on D’Andre Swift as the Eagles’ lead back, but anyone expecting a repeat performance of what he pulled off over the last two games is in for a letdown this week.

Not to take anything away from Swift’s incredible play, but his matchups were pretty soft over those last two games. The Minnesota Vikings (27th) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (30th) are both bottom-six run defenses by Pro Football Focus grades. The Commanders aren’t elite in that metric either, but they do check in above average at 14th.

Philadelphia’s O-line is good enough to run against just about anyone, but I expect the offense to take the path of least resistance here, and that’s going to be unleashing Jalen Hurts and picking apart Washington through the air.

I don’t expect a bad game from Swift by any stretch, but I project him in the 10-15 carry range, and he’s not gonna average 8 yards per carry like he did last week.
