Philadelphia Eagles fans are riding high after Monday night’s win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Yes, the team didn’t play its best, but they overcame their mistakes and fought through to secure a relatively easy 25-11 victory.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts was one player who struggled at times during MNF, but the postgame update on the dual threat puts his performance into perspective.

Eagles News: Jalen Hurts Flu Update

Hurts revealed after the contest that he was battling flu-like symptoms in Week 3. It turns out he wasn’t the only one. Center Jason Kelce said a few Eagles players were under the weather against the Buccaneers.

Star receiver A.J. Brown popped off for a season-best 131 yards all while not feeling his best, either.

With the changing of the seasons, it’s no surprise to hear some kind of cold is going through Philadelphia’s locker room.

However, it’s going to take a lot more than some flu-like symptoms to disrupt this talented squad. Hurts still managed to throw for 277 yards in Tampa, adding 2 total touchdowns. Running back D’Andre Swift also helped carry the offensive load while guys weren’t at their best, recording his second straight contest over 100 rushing yards.

The defense, meanwhile, took the pressure off of an under-the-weather Hurts as well with its play. Despite making a major change in the secondary, the Bucs didn’t find the end zone until the game was essentially over in the fourth quarter. Tampa Bay was also held to only 174 total yards, clearly being outpaced by Philly’s 472.

This was a total team win for the Eagles in Week 3 that again continues their positive momentum to begin the 2023 season. Even if it hasn’t been the most pretty, Philadelphia is just one of three undefeated teams remaining across the NFL. If anything, their 3-0 record despite some early struggles should make opponents even more afraid considering the extra levels they have yet to hit.
