There was a sense all week that the Eagles’ 2-0 start wasn’t impressive enough. Fans thought it, and the team wasn’t shy about admitting it. The wins are nice, but nobody was going to be complacent when things weren’t clicking the way they should have.

That all changed in Week 3.

The big 25-11 win on Monday Night Football was obviously great, but it’s the way the Eagles won that was so impressive. The game was more lopsided than that score made it feel, and this looked a lot more like a Super Bowl contending team than we saw in either Week 1 or Week 2.

With that in mind, I couldn’t settle on just three studs from the win. Too many Eagles deserved the designation.

So here are my five studs (and two duds — it still wasn’t a flawless showing) from last night’s win.

Eagles Week 3 Studs & Duds From Monday Night Football Win vs. Buccaneers

Stud: Jalen Carter

Jalen Carter was already well on his way to establishing himself as an elite defensive lineman before this game, and his monster showing in primetime should help get himself into the national conversation.

Carter made an early impact getting pressure on Baker Mayfield in the first quarter, and he turned it up in the second quarter. The Bucs had good field position and were poised to really shift the momentum before half time after an interception from Jalen Hurts, but Carter all but single handedly stopped that.

Those were back-to-back plays. He blew up a double-team on his own on the way to splitting a sack with Fletcher Cox on the first play. Then what happens when he can’t get pressure? He has the hustle to chase down a receiver after a completion and forces the fumble.
