Philadelphia Eagles fans helped give the team some home-field advantage despite being on the road in Week 3. A large contingent of the Philly faithful was on hand at Raymond James Stadium Monday night, cheering their team on during their 25-11 handling of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

However, there were still some Bucs fans in attendance, and they ended up playing a part in Philadelphia’s win as well.

Eagles wide receivers DeVonta Smith and AJ Brown told reporters following the victory that one Tampa fan “was talking crazy” to them before the game. Even worse, this berating took place while Brown and Smith were holding their pregame prayer. Smith added, “To the fan that was talking, you pissed him (Brown) off.”

This fan’s blatant disrespect of Philadelphia’s star wideouts certainly came to bite him. Brown played like he was on mission in Week 3, torching the Bucs’ secondary for season highs in receptions (9) and yards (131). His ability to get open for big plays all night long gave the Eagles plenty of scoring chances, ensuring Tampa never really stood a chance.

Making Brown’s performance even more impressive, he did it while feeling under the weather. The WR revealed after the game he was battling a stomach issue. The fact he had his best game of the season while not being at 100% not speaks to not only his talent, but his determination to send a certain someone a message.

It’s unfortunate Smith and Brown had their private moment disrupted by an unruly fan. However, they were able to exact some revenge on the field, while all the Tampa supporter could do was watch from the stands. Sounds like poetic justice.
