2. Josh Sweat

As I’ve touched on twice now, we’re getting nothing from Haason Reddick.

Not only does Reddick not have a sack, but he didn’t record a single tackle in Week 2 or Week 3. And it’s not like he’s getting attacked with double-teams every play either. He’s just making no impact.

But Josh Sweat’s play on the edge has made Reddick’s struggles a lot easier to manage.

Sweat entered the Eagles’ Week 3 Monday Night Football game with a team-high 6 quarterback hits, notching a sack in each of the first two wins.

He didn’t keep the streak up against the Bucs, but he did have a couple of nice rushes that forced Baker Mayfield to step up into nasty situations, blowing up the play almost as much as a sack would have anyway.

He also did what great players do — finding a way to contribute even when your normal strengths aren’t shining through. Sweat made a real impact in the run game, with his 3 solo tackles ranking third on the Eagles’ defense on Monday. He’d only had 1 solo tackle credited through those first two games.

It’s no coincidence that Sweat is playing the highest snap rate of his career (72%, up from 56% last year and a previous career high of 62%), and his impact in replacing some of Reddick’s production has been undeniable.
