2. Cut Haason Reddick

Has a commentator mentioned Haason Reddick’s name for making a play once all season?

We’re getting a big dose of early-career Arizona Cardinals draft bust Haason Reddick instead of the Defensive Player of the Year-level Haason Reddick we saw last in 2022.

He was almost invisible in Week 1 with just 1 assisted tackle. He did at least get to Mac Jones for 1 hit, so we knew he was on the field.

Thursday night was much uglier, however. If you look at the box score, you wouldn’t even know he played. His snap share was still at 67%, though, so he was on the field, apparently.

Sometimes a defensive player’s impact goes beyond the stat sheet, but that was not the case for Reddick. He was getting pushed back in the run game and wasn’t getting any pressure as a pass-rusher.

With one of the deepest defenisve fronts in football, what are we paying him over $15 million a year for? Let’s just cut our losses.

Okay, maybe that’s being a little hasty.

We know Reddick wasn’t a one-year wonder because he did have double-digit sacks in back-to-back seasons before joining the Eagles.

Is it the thumb injury? All the talk from within the organization and Reddick himself was that he’d be fine for the season, but this could be the cause. There were some comments he made about needing to get used to playing with the cast before Week 1, so I’m gonna hold out hope that he’s just still figuring that out and we don’t need to cut him.
