4. Albert Okwuegbunam

I don’t think it’s going to be long before we see Albert Okwuegbunam make his way onto the active gameday roster.

I’m really high on his talent, and the Eagles coaching staff seems really excited to have him in Philly.

He also doesn’t have that much competition. Grant Calcaterra played just 4 offensive snaps in Week 1, and while he did play 14 special teams snaps, it’s not like he’s a special teams ace or anything.

Only carrying four wide receivers on the roster means the Eagles need their tight ends to function as wide receiver depth as much as anything else, and that makes Okwuegbunam a really interesting option.

Despite all of that, I don’t think we see him active on Thursday night.

He’s still new in Philly and taking his time learning the offensive system. A short week ahead of a Thursday Night Football game isn’t the time for coaches to make significant personnel changes, and certainly not the time when it’s easiest to slot in with an offense for the first time.

It wouldn’t shock me if we see Albert O overtake Calcaterra by Week 3, but I don’t see it happening just yet.
