1. Jalen Hurts

More often than not, a quarterback must be his team’s best player if a Super Bowl ring is the goal for any given season. The good news for Eagles fans is that their signal-caller is not only the best player on the team, but also one of the best in the entire league.

After struggling to find his footing in his first two campaigns, Hurts joined the same elite QB tier as the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen in 2022.

The Houston, TX native was a monster in the pocket, completing 66.5% of his passes for 3,702 passing yards with 22 TDs to 6 INTs over 15 starts (which saw the Eagles go 14-1). He also got the job done on the ground, turning 165 carries into another 760 yards and 13 touchdowns.

His elite dual-threat performance saw him finish as the runner-up to Mahomes in the MVP race. While that wasn’t the result that the Philly faithful wanted, it cemented the fact that we have a QB who’s capable of at least challenging for the status as the NFL’s best player.

There’s just no way for opposing teams to properly plan for the havoc that Hurts brings. He’s capable of beating anyone on the ground or through the air, making him the most dangerous player in the NFL.

After signing a five-year, $255 million contract extension this offseason, Hurts must be the Eagles’ best player going forward. The bad news for the rest of the NFL is that he’s proven that he’s worth that price tag and has all the tools to do it again in 2023.
