10. Moro Ojomo

Moro Ojomo is a guy I’d love to have on the roster, and I’ll be crossing my fingers that he clears waivers to be able to sign onto the practice squad when he’s cut. But our defensive line is just too deep to justify keeping him on the 53.

Even having two distinct positions on the interior defensive line, the Eagles have enough depth and versatility that I only see them keeping five players, while Ojomo would make the roster if we were keeping six.

Fletcher Cox, Jalen Carter and Milton Williams are all capable pass rushers from the interior and play roughly the same role. We play one of them on rushing downs and two of them on passing downs.

Then we have Jordan Davis, who won’t play much against the pass but is incredibly valuable against the run. He’s backed up by Marlon Tuipulotu.

Ojomo has shown a ton of promise, but he’d have no path to playing time unless we saw two injuries in that Cox/Carter/Williams group. And an outside shot of contributing like that isn’t enough to use a roster spot on.

If we have him on the practice squad, we can of course always promote him to the active roster if injuries do pave the way to some playing time.
