3. Joseph Ngata

There isn’t a lot of wiggle room when it comes to Philadelphia’s wide receiver chart. A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith are the two top wideouts — regardless of which way you rank them — while Quez Watkins, Olamide Zaccheaus and Greg Ward round out the top five.

That likely leaves one WR spot open, and Joseph Ngata’s name is written all over it.

Ngata arrived in the City of Brotherly Love as a UDFA this spring. The 22-year-old playmaker spent four seasons at Clemson, where he turned 88 catches into 1,287 yards and 6 TDs over 39 games.

It didn’t take long for Ngata to start stealing headlines at training camp. Whether it was his ability to haul in difficult passes or stick to his route, it’s clear that reporters, fans and coaches alike were impressed with his play.

The good news is that the rookie WR has continued his success into the preseason. He’s logged 4 catches on 8 targets for 43 yards and while he’s still looking for his first TD, he’s managed to tally a trio of first downs along the way.

With a 6-foot-3, 215-pound frame, it’s hard not to like the idea of Ngata as the WR5/6 this season. The upside is clearly there, leaving time to tell if the Eagles will allow him to blossom.
