76ers fans are no strangers to drama, but even they didn’t expect the James Harden-Daryl Morey drama to go down like this.

Considering you must have a pulse and be at a computer or on your phone to be reading this, you know already know what the biggest story in Philadelphia sports is this morning. You’ve watched the video or read the quote. You know what we’re all focused on. But that doesn’t mean it’s not worth including the video again to kick things off here.

James Harden went off on Daryl Morey in one of the most bizarre, inexplicable verbal attacks you’ll ever see from an active athlete:

James Harden Daryl Morey Attack Reactions

Philly fans had all sorts of reactions to the comments. Some fans are just resigned to the Sixers always being a bit of a circus and are amused by the situation, and some are downright mad at Harden for his ridiculous behavior. Let’s take a look at what fans have to say.

Fans Fed Up With the Organization

We’ll get to the Harden hate, but first, it’s clear some fans just want this circus to end. It can be absolutely exhausting being a Sixers fan. We survived The Process, but we’re still not free from the ridiculous drama that came with it.

“Philadelphia Cowboys” pretty perfectly sums up just how over the top things are getting with the 76ers. At least Philly has an NFL team that would never collapse into a situation like this.

Short, concise, to the point. It would be nice to go one offseason where the 76ers only make headlines for basketball reasons.

Remember when the “#HereTheyCome” hashtag actually meant fun things for Sixers fans? Well now it’s just another reminder that we can’t have nice things.

And how about some of the top Reddit comments about the organization?

"One day we’ll have a normal off-season I swear🤡"

u/Puzzleheaded-Scene62

"Why can’t this organisation ever be f***ing normal? What a f***ing wild thing to say publicly lmao."

– u/pagonator

"my favorite thing about being a Sixers fan is how normal the team is"

– u/brxhit

Critical of Harden

Now, Sixers fans might be used to disappointment, but they are still from Philly. So you knew full well that they weren’t going to let Harden off the hook easily here.

Some fans were much more willing to give Harden a chance, but are simply done with him at this point:

And of course, Harden wasn’t able to escape the criticism on Reddit either. Fans are also especially perplexed as to why these comments would come after accepting a player option on his contract to remain in Philadelphia.

"Good. Send him to a shitty team with no strip clubs Daryl"

– u/BBallSaul

"‘…. but also, I just voluntarily signed a $35m contract in order to be a part of the organisation he’s a part of.’"

– u/humphrey623

"MY BROTHER IN CHRIST YOU OPTED INTO THE DEAL?!?!"

– u/itsmetime98

"Imagine opting in with no intention of returning and no teams wanting to trade for you."

– u/ScholarImpossible121

Of course, to keep things PG-13 I’ve left out some of the more colorful reactions to the news. I’m sure you can guess a few of the choice words that some Philly fans my be hurling around right now.

Ultimately I’m not going to speculate on where these comments came from or what may be going on personally between Harden and Morey behind the scenes. Because there’s almost nothing that could be happening that would make this whole scenario make much sense anyway.

It would be nice to focus on the Phillies heating up in the second half of the season. It would be nice to focus on the Eagles looking poised to build on last season and win a Super Bowl this time. But it’s hard to ever truly escape thinking about the 76ers’ drama.

If you’re still itching to bet on the 76ers (or maybe you’re a little more measured and are just looking to bet on the Phillies or Eagles), you’ll want to do it on Caesars Sportsbook. If your first bet doesn’t win, Caesars will award you with the amount you wagered as a bonus – for anything from $10 all the way up to $1,250. So if you bet $50 on a Phillies win, you’ll be awarded an automatic $50 bonus if they lose. With that kind of a back-up plan, even betting on the 76ers is a little easier.
