3 Phillies Who Won’t Survive the Trade Deadline
By Tyler Maher
3. Alec Bohm
This isn’t a knock on Bohm, as he’s been perfectly serviceable this year. His .279/.330/.411 batting line is a bit light for a corner infielder, however, leaving room to upgrade.
Now in his fourth season, Bohm doesn’t seem like he’s going to develop into anything more than a league-average hitter at this point based on his career 99 OPS+. That’s fine, but Dombrowski may want to replace him with more of a masher to get some more pop in the lineup.
Bohm is still fairly young (26) and hasn’t reached his arbitration years yet, so that would make him an attractive trade chip. Philadelphia could build a trade package around him to acquire some pitching help, which would probably be more useful for the stretch run than an okay bat.
