The Philadelphia Eagles had a dominant run to Super Bowl LVII and nearly won it all.

If not for a wild second-half comeback by the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia would be celebrating a Super Bowl season right now.

As we head into the offseason, free agency is a hot-button topic, especially for Eagles fans.

If you want to get ahead of the offseason hype, you can take advantage of a limited-time offer from Caesars Sportsbook to place a futures bet on the Eagles for next season.

Caesars Sportsbook Promo

Caesars is offering a great promotion for Eagles fans: A risk-free bet worth up to $1,250 when you sign up for the first time!

Now let’s examine why you should be so optimistic about the Eagles this offseason.

Three Free Agents Eagles Should Sign

‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ couldn’t be more appropriate for Philly this offseason.

The Eagles were untouchable for most of this past season, blowing out the Giants and the 49ers on the way to a Super Bowl appearance.

Part of what made Philly so dominant this year was how balanced the team was.

There were certainly strengths – the O-line, Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith and the defensive front seven – but there also weren’t really any big weaknesses.

If the Eagles want similar success next season, they should look into re-signing some of their top free agents.

  1. Javon Hargrave (DT) – The Eagles led the NFL in sacks last season with 70 (next best was the Chiefs with 55) and often got to the quarterback without additional pass rushers.
One of the biggest reasons for this was the play of Hargrave. He’s 30 now, but Hargrave is still one of the better defensive tackles in the league. He made 60 tackles with 11 sacks this past season, giving him a combined 18.5 sacks over the past two seasons. That’s a MONSTER number for a DT, and re-signing him would go a long way in fortifying one of the Eagles’ best strengths. However, there’s a good chance Hargrave will be looking for a salary the Eagles can’t match.
  2. CJ Gardner-Johnson (DB) – Both Gardner-Johnson and James Bradberry are set for free agency, but this feels like a situation where you’re hoping just to keep at least one of them. After signing a one-year prove-it deal last year, Bradberry appears poised for a huge payday. Gardner-Johnson, on the other hand, could be more reasonable to keep. Gardner-Johnson was limited to 12 games due to a lacerated kidney, but still produced at a high level – making 67 tackles with six interceptions and eight passes defended. It would be a DEVASTATING blow to lose both Bradberry and Gardner-Johnson, and the latter would almost certainly be a cheaper option. There’s already talk the Eagles will franchise-tag Gardner-Johnson if they don’t agree to a deal.
  3. Isaac Seumalo (RG) – Again, the Eagles want to make sure the best parts of their team remain strengths and re-signing Seumalo would go a long way to doing that for the offensive line. Center Jason Kelce is 35 years old and could retire before next season and Seumalo is set for free agency. Retaining at least one of those players is essential. Seumalo should be relatively affordable for the Eagles and would be one of the team’s youngest offensive linemen at 29 years old.

If you want to dream about some players from other teams that the Eagles could sign, it would be fun to imagine a world in which they added an exciting running back to the mix (should Miles Sanders sign somewhere else).

Both Tony Pollard and Josh Jacobs would be exciting players to watch behind Philly’s monstrous offensive line. The reality, however, is that Dallas will likely keep Pollard at any cost and Jacobs will likely be seeking the biggest payday of his career.

There’s no reason the Eagles shouldn’t do everything they can to keep their core together and try to run it back. Don’t forget, you can cash in on that run by signing up with Caesars.
