Phillies dream starting lineup: Batting eighth Bryson Stott, 2B

This dream Phillies lineup gets a little tricky with all of the lefties. We have Bryson Stott batting eighth and playing second base. The rookie jitters are now out of the way. It’s time for him to start hitting on a more regular basis.

Stott made some big strides last year. Seeing him finish the year with a .234/.295/.358 slash line is impressive, considering where he was at certain points. He now has 100 MLB hits under his belt. Exactly what type of player he’ll become remains a question.

Stott isn’t quite ready to bat higher in the Phillies lineup. Increased power or a better batting average could lift him. In the interim, he’s batting eighth and giving them a lot of offense in this dream scenario.

Phillies dream starting lineup: Batting ninth Brandon Marsh, CF

Who else is hoping Brandon Marsh does some big things for the Phillies in his career? Marsh is an unbelievably fun player and right there in age with some of the other younger players on the team. He joins Bohm and Stott in their mid-20s as potential future core members of the team.

This lineup does feature two more lefties at the very bottom, which may concern some people. It’s understandable. The Phillies would need to have a right-handed hitter available to potentially pinch-hit for one or the other.

We can worry about that later when we actually play some games with this dream lineup. Marsh has leadoff hitter tendencies, and we have him batting ninth. His job is to turn the lineup over. On days when Turner isn’t available, he might be the next-best choice to bat at the top.
