No. 3: Sony Michel is the downhill runner the Eagles need

The most talented of the three running backs mentioned today will also be the most difficult to land. After being released by the Miami Dolphins, Sony Michel is already being targeted by potential suitors, specifically the Los Angeles Chargers, who he will visit with on Wednesday.

It’s not surprising to see teams acting fast for Michel as he’s been as consistent as backs come averaging 4.2 yards per attempt over his four-year career.

Sony Michel was initially drafted by the New England Patriots with the 31st overall pick in the 2018 draft. In three seasons in New England, he accumulated 2292 rushing yards along with 14 rushing touchdowns. Michel then went on to be a major contributor for the Los Angeles Rams on their Super Run last season, rushing for 845 yards during the regular season.

A power back with a solid ability to pass block, Sony Michel ticks multiple boxes the Eagles are looking for and would be about as ideal as any other option. Unfortunately, that’s the same case for many other teams.

If things don’t work out for Michel after his visit with the Chargers, the Philadelphia Eagles would be wise to be the next team that hosts him.
