1. Davion Taylor’s days are numbered

Davion Taylor has found it very hard to find his footing in the league since being drafted in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Viewed as a project player with high upside at the rime, not much was expected of him in his rookie season and that presumption was  ultimately proven correct.

His tantalizing athleticism as a “new age” linebacker had fans and pundits alike waiting to see what he could do with a year of NFL experience under his belt but unfortunately, a calf injury kept him out of preseason action in 2021.

When he finally got on the field he showed promise, flashing that athletic ability and looking more comfortable within the defense. He had a fantastic game against Denver logging seven tackles and a pair of forced fumbles but unfortunately, that was the last meaningful game Taylor would play in, after making only six starts his season ended with a knee injury.

Taylor seemed to be having a good camp but he has played mostly with the third team defense, recording only four tackles on 70 snaps, and could be a casualty of a numbers game. Considering the Eagles basically run a base 5-2 defense and he is sitting firmly behind Kyzir White, T.J. Edwards, Nakobe Dean and special teams ace Shaun Bradley could this spell the end of the road for a once promising athlete?
