Naming three quality forwards who would fit within the Philadelphia 76ers’ price range.

With the 2022 NBA Draft passed, the Philadelphia 76ers – and every other team, really – have to turn their attention to free agency, where they can further fortify their offseason plans and fill out their roster with important pieces expensive and not-so-much.

As things presently stand, the Sixers have access to the taxpayer mid-level exception, worth $6.339 million, a few draft picks, some tradable players, and an ability to sign veteran free agents to minimum contracts. While they could make some moves to potentially open up more money and thus the full mid-level exception, doing so would require either trading away Tobias Harris – which seems very hard indeed – or moving on from a third of the roster in the pursuit of a 37-year-old forward.

Seems rather daunting, right? Other teams have more moveable picks, more attractive players, and more money/exceptions from which to procure better players, and the Sixers have to play the margins in the hopes of turning a roster that wasn’t good enough to make it out of the second round into a title contender.

Well fear not, friends, as the Philadelphia 76ers’ roster isn’t that far away from being quite a bit better. They have the stars in place, a few intriguing young prospects, and they just added an incredibly useful performer in De’Anthony Milton, who should play a ton this fall as the team’s third guard; all they need is a bigger forward who can defend the best 6-foot-8 forwards the NBA has to offer while hitting open 3s and rebounding the ball at both ends of the court. Fortunately, there are a few intriguing options who fit that bill to a T at a good, better, and best price point.
