Philadelphia Eagles: Ranking the quarterbacks rooms of the NFC East
2. Philadelphia Eagles
Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: The Philadelphia Eagles will go as far as their quarterbacks room allows. If things work out and the team takes a step forward in 2022, then hey, the second or even third round of the playoffs very well might be in play.
And if that doesn’t happen? Well, Howie Roseman has amassed enough assets both on the field and in his war chest to land a top-tier replacement either in free agency or the 2023 NFL Draft.
So why, you may ask, are the Eagles second on this list instead of lower? Well, because unlike Washington or New York, Philly has continuity at both head coach and quarterback, and that could prove incredibly valuable this fall.
Most important performer: Jalen Hurts
Sorry Gardner Minshew fans, but this is Jalen Hurts‘ team, and he has clearly bought all the way into that moving forward.
If Hurts takes his words to heart, embraces his true destiny as a facilitating game manager, and continues to be one of the top rushing quarterbacks in the NFL, then the Eagles will have one of the most idiosyncratic and intriguing offenses in the entire NFL. If not? Well, Gardner is certainly fun, right? Maybe he’s the next Tony Romo.
