Philadelphia Eagles: Ranking the defensive tackle units of the NFC East
2. Washington Commanders
Even with Matt Ioannidis gone, the Washington Commanders have a very good defensive tackle rotation headlined a pair of former first-round picks out of Alabama who might not be the best of friends at times on the sidelines but work very well together in the trenches.
While the Commanders don’t have the best depth, as the three other defensive tackles on their roster weren’t drafted and only one of them, Justin Hamilton, has a single professional stat to his name, it’s hard to top their starters, even if one team on this list obviously does.
Top performer: Jonathan Allen
Jonathan Allen is really good. He’s a Pro Bowler, has started every single game he’s appeared in, and, at just 27, could continue to play at a high level for years to come.
Coming fresh off his best season as a pro, where he sacked opposing quarterbacks nine times, hit them 30 times, and recorded 10 tackles for a loss, Allen really meshed with Ron Rivera in their first season together and could continue to give players like Jalen Hurts trouble for years to come. Good news for them, bad news for the Eagles.
