Philadelphia Eagles: Ranking the running backs rooms of the NFC East
3. Philadelphia Eagles
As you may or may not know, the Philadelphia Eagles had the best wide receiving room in the NFL. They ranked first in rushing yards, second in rushing attempts – by a single carry – and just generally dominated in the ground game once Shane Steichen took over play-calling duties.
So why, you may ask, are the Eagles third on the list instead of first or even second? Well, because this is a review of the running backs room, not the rushing offense as a whole.
The Eagles have better depth than the Giants, sure, but they lack the proven high-end talent of both the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Commanders, so third it is.
Top performer: Miles Sanders
Miles Sanders, though great, is still a bit of a question mark heading into his fourth professional season.
When he’s on, he’s a dynamic performer who can catch the ball in space, make incredible runs on the outside, and even take care of business between the tackles. Sure, he occasionally fumbles the ball and might not be what one would call an elite pass blocker, but his game is great, and that (probably) isn’t going to change any time soon.
If Sanders can put it all together over a full season and finally put up the numbers that match his potential, his spot on this sort of list could go up considerably.
