3. The New York Giants

The Giants, in a way, are both better and worse positioned than the Commanders heading into the 2022 NFL season.

Why? Well, I’m glad you asked.

Remember the phrase “entered the offseason without a Pro Bowl cornerback on their roster?” That wording was chosen intentionally because New York did, in fact, start the offseason with a Pro Bowl cornerback, James Bradberry, on their roster, only to be released shortly after the draft.

Still, New York has one good, veteran cornerback by the name of Adoree’ Jackson and have surrounded him with a number of intriguing young cornerbacks like 2020 fourth round pick Darnay Holmes and 2022 third round pick Cordale Flott. If just one of those cornerbacks works out, the team could be in a very good position indeed.

When the New York Giants signed Jackson away from the Tennessee Titans, it felt like a big deal. While the former USC product didn’t exactly set the league on fire during his run in the Music City, or even play up to his draft status, ball skills, playmaking abilities, and grittiness would look right at home in most secondaries across the NFL whether deployed on the inside or out.
