Philadelphia Eagles: Ranking UDFA jersey numbers
In the not-too-distant future, the Philadelphia Eagles‘ news cycle will be in full swing. The practice field at the NovaCare Center will feature almost 100 players looking to make their dreams come true, rookies like Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean will finally get their first taste practicing against NFL players, and before we collectively know it, the preseason and regular season will be upon us.
But until then? Well, it’s all about finding interesting stories to read and write about.
Folks, we are officially at the “Ranking UDFA jersey numbers” portion of the offseason; read on if you so see fit.
The Philadelphia Eagles have a number of promising UDFAs.
As things presently stand, the Eagles have 14 UDFAs on their roster, an expansive class a tad bigger than usual because of the team’s correspondingly smaller draft class. While only a few of those players, say a half dozen, will actually have a chance to make the active roster this fall, there’s always a chance that some player will magically catch fire and become a regular contributor, a starter, or even a star.
Unlikely? You bet, but hey, Rodney McLeod started his NFL career as a UDFA cornerback, and he parlayed his opportunity into a pretty darn good career; why couldn’t one of these players do the same?
So, without further ado, let’s take a look at the Philadelphia Eagles’ 14-man undrafted free agent class to grade their number choices, see how they fit their position/playing style, and maybe glean a little a bit about how the franchise views each player. Hey, could be fun!
