Safety . San Francisco 49ers. Jaquiski Tartt. 3. player. 42.

And last but not least, we have another player who was a starter in 2021 but curiously remains unsigned two months after the start of free agency, Jaquiski Tartt.

A former second-round pick who actually shared a collegiate secondary with James Bradberry at Samford, Tartt has started 64 of the 80 games he’s appeared in as a member of the San Francisco 49ers from 2015-21 and played well enough to earn two contract extensions from his now-former club.

Thrust into action early on at strong safety opposite converted first-round cornerback Jimmy Ward, Tartt has allowed just 546 yards and six touchdowns on 93 targets over the past four seasons and played well enough to remain on the first for at least 82 percent of the Niners’ defensive snaps over that tenure.

While his time in San Francisco may not have ended in the best way, as he dropped an interception that would have sealed a trip to the Super Bowl, that one play shouldn’t overshadow seven seasons of solid performances, let alone bar him from an opportunity to continue to play football at just 30 years old.

Maybe Jaquiski Tartt should place a call to James Bradberry and see if he can get in on the midnight green game too.

Next. Please don’t move Avonte Maddox to safety. dark

Which safety would you like to see the Philadelphia Eagles add heading into the summer? Are you all-in on Jessie Bates III, or do you think the team is good with what they already have? Let us know!
