And just like that, there were three.

After months of anticipation, the Philadelphia Eagles have drafted three new players into the fraternity of midnight green, including two national champions in Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean and Jason Kelce’s latest understudy, Cam Jurgens.

We are also about to enter three, Day 3, that is, of the 2022 NFL Draft, where Howie Roseman will either solidify the A+ draft grade he’s earned from yours truly and others or will let folks down for selecting Player X when everyone knows Player Y would have been better.

Dean or no Dean, the patience of Philly fans will only last so far, even if Pro Bowler A.J. Brown is technically included in the team’s draft haul.

The Philadelphia Eagles have a big day ahead of them.

When, you might ask, will the Eagles pick? Well, they currently have picks 154 and 237, so that probably falls around 2 pm and 4:45 pm EST, respectively, give or take a few minutes here or there. With those picks, the Eagles should be able to land at least one more difference-making talent in the middle of the fifth and “steal” away a UDFA-level talent without having to bid on their services on the open market.

Sounds underwhelming, right? Well, it doesn’t have to be; two of the best cornerbacks of the NFL’s last generation, Richard Sherman and Josh Norman, were both drafted in the fifth round, and Jordan Mailata was selected 233rd overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, and he certainly worked out alright by any quantifiable margin.

So, without further ado, let’s mock these final two picks and see what kind of elite talent is left for the Philadelphia Eagles.
