Philadelphia Eagles: First Round Eve 7-round Mock Draft
After failing to land one of the 2022 NFL Draft’s premier tight ends, the Philadelphia Eagles could still come away from Day 3 with a solid partner in crime for Dallas Goedert if Daniel Bellinger is still on the board midway through the fifth round.
Though he wasn’t a featured performer for the Aztecs of San Diego, as he never caught more than 31 passes, recorded more than 351 yards, or notched more than three touchdowns in a season, Bellinger showcased sure hands, decent athleticism, and a willing ability to block both in line and out in space.
Considering the Eagles were a run-heavy team who cobbled together incredible production with a makeshift collection of blockers due to a series of injuries, securing one of the better blocking tight ends in this year’s class in the fifth round could provide even more utility to Nick Sirianni’s offense than some team who isn’t as into dominating at the point of attack via a zone-blocking scheme.
With Tyree Jackson likely out for much of the season, Zach Ertz in Arizona, and the dynamic trio of Jack Stoll, Noah Togiai, and brand new tight end JJ Arcega-Whiteside very much question marks to make the roster, any drafted tight end has a solid chance to not only make the roster but have a pretty expansive role right out of the gates as the team’s presumptive TE2.
