Philadelphia Eagles: First Round Eve 7-round Mock Draft
Is drafting a running back in the second round a reach? Maybe so. Will Breece Hall even be on the board at 51? Only if the Buffalo Bills pass on him in the first round. But if Josh Allen’s club opts to go another direction and no one at the top of the second round wants to upgrade their offensive backfield, pairing Jalen Hurts up with an elite running back could be a match made in football heaven.
Hall is a big, tough bell cow rusher who can run between the tackles, run outside the tackles, pass block, and even catch passes. He’s an elite athlete who turned in incredible testing numbers at the combine and is one of the few prospects who scored a 99 on the NFL’s Next Gen Stats grading system.
On paper, placing the best running back in this year’s class in the best rushing offense in the NFL is a dream pairing, but would Howie Roseman actually do it? Well, he did select Miles Sanders in the second round, and that decision worked out pretty darn well for the team, as did the selection of LeSean McCoy, who Roseman didn’t personally draft but was in the front office for.
If Sanders re-signs with the team in 2023, he could form an elite duo with Hall. And if not? Well, Hall should be able to handle a huge workload very early in his career.
