814. . Defensive Tackle. Bulldogs . Jordan Davis. 15. player

If Jordan Davis is available at pick 15, he’s probably going to be the Philadelphia Eagles’ pick.

I know, I know; what about Jameson Williams, a player the Eagles have been linked to heavily over the past week or so? Or what about a defensive end like, say, Florida State’s Jermaine Johnson? Kyle Hamilton will probably be gone, but a safety like Dax Hill will still be there.

Don’t care; Howie Roseman loves to build through the trenches, loves premier athletes, and, with Fletcher Cox on the tail end of his career, the Eagles could use a new foundational defensive tackle to build around.

Between you and me, there isn’t a player who fits that bill better than Davis.

Measuring in at 6-foot-6, 341 pounds, Davis notoriously ran a 4.78 40 at the combine and finished out his time in Indianapolis with one of the most dominant overall performances of any player, regardless of position, in the event’s history.

Yes, he was largely a two-down player at Georgia. Yes, his teammate, Devonte Wyatt, was a better pass rusher in college, but honestly, it doesn’t really matter; there aren’t a lot of people with Jordan’s athletic profile, and with a year to learn under Cox and Javon Hargrave, he could eventually become the sort of foundational player that will call the City of Brotherly Love home for a very long time.
