892. . Defensive Tackle. Huskies . Travis Jones. 51. player

After missing out on the top-2 interior defensive linemen in this year’s class, Howie Roseman secures the best defensive tackle left on the board in Travis Jones.

Measuring in at 6-foot-4, 327 pounds, Jones is a big, bursty defensive tackle who is big enough to be a premier run stuffer from the 3-4 nose or 4-3 defensive tackle position and athletic enough to stay on the field on obvious passing downs.

Over his three seasons with the Huskies, Jones picked up 134 tackles, 19 tackles for a loss, and 8.5 sacks in only 33 games of action. While some will knock the level of competition Randy Edsall’s Connecticut Huskies had to face over Jones’ tenure with the team, the three-star recruit recorded at least half of a sack versus Cincinnati, South Florida, Houston, and Purdue, which marks four of his team’s seven biggest games over his tenure.

With Fletcher Cox and Javon Hargrave both set to hit free agency in 2023, Jones could serve as a high-end rotational defensive tackle in 2023 alongside Milton Williams before potentially taking a step into a bigger role as a second-year pro.

For a draft not particularly heralded for its depth at defensive tackle, securing a starting-caliber defensive tackle in the second round could prove incredibly consequential for the Philadelphia Eagles for years to come.
