Wan’Dale Robinson might just be the most exciting pound-for-pound player in college football.

He stands 5-foot-11, 185 pounds, has the smallest wingspan in the Mockdraftable wide receiver database, and yet, when the ball touches his hands, via a screen pass, a jet sweep, a quick slant, or a deep post, Robinson makes some of the most electrifying plays you’ll ever see.

A two-year hybrid rusher/receiver at Nebraska who transferred to Kentucky in 2021 to be closer to his grandmother, Robinson exploded on the national stage to the tune of 104 receptions in 13 games for 1,334 yards and seven touchdowns. Whether deployed as a flanker or out of the slot, Robinson tracked the ball well when it was in the air, played with exceptional field awareness, and showed a slipperiness after the catch that made it incredibly hard for just one defender to take him down.

In the Philadelphia Eagles’ scheme, Robinson would be a positionless playmaker who moves around the field to exploit mismatches. He’d surely receive more than a few of Nick Sirianni’s patented screens, deploy out of the slot and on the outside, and maybe even take a few snaps in the backfield Deebo Samuel/D.J. Moore-style. While he may never become a full-on star and may not even start in the slot depending on how the rest of the team’s draft strategy shakes out, Robinson could become a Darren Sproles-esque sparkplug capable of making something out of nothing at the most opportune times as a cult fan favorite.
