3. Philadelphia Phillies outfield free agent target: Eddie Rosario.

Eddie Rosario became a postseason hero for the Atlanta Braves last year. No one saw it coming. He was traded mid-year from Cleveland to the eventual World Series champions. In the NLCS, he helped power the club’s way to the finals.

Rosario has actually had a somewhat underrated big league career. The lefty-swinging outfielder is a .275/.309/.473 hitter with an average of 27 home runs and 90 RBI per 162 games. Most of his career was spent with the Minnesota Twins where he set all of these totals until the 2021 season when he departed for the first time.

Left field is Rosario’s primary position. Although he’s not a Gold Glove winner by any stretch, he has at least familiarized himself with the position. He isn’t as great of a hitter as Castellanos but could cost less which is a bonus if the Phillies are willing to upgrade other positions, too.

Signing Rosario may not grab the same kinds of headlines that others on this list would. He’s kind of an under the radar free agent this offseason. A well-balanced player that fits into exactly what the club needs, adding him could turn into a beneficial signing for several seasons. After all, he’s only 30.
