Kenrich Williams is a goldilocks option for the Philadelphia 76ers.

If the Philadelphia 76ers are unable to land James Harden straight up or opt to call Brooklyn’s bluff and trade Tobias Harris to the OKC Thunder to free up max cap space over the summer, one player who could be an intriguing option to add some playmaking would be Kenrich Williams.

Why? One word: Forward.

That’s right, not only is Williams a solid passer who averaged four-plus potential assists per game over the past four seasons according to the NBA’s advanced analytics, but he does so as a certified frontcourt player who splits his time 65-32 between the small and power forward positions.

Remember all of those plays in the Sixers’ playbook explicitly drawn up for Ben Simmons? Williams could do that with the added bonus of having made 169 3 pointers and counting in his career so far, which is exactly 164 more than Simmons in 113 fewer games.

While Williams isn’t quite at Simmons’ level defensively, he still has a Defensive Raptor rating of +4.0 according to FiveThirtyEight, which is tied with Draymond Green for the eighth-best mark in the association.

If the Sixers want to part ways with a player like Jaden Springer, who has already changed his Twitter handle, in exchange for a solid two-way wing who can perfectly assimilate into the team’s rotation, Williams is certainly a player worth considering.
