How do the Philadelphia Eagles compare to the Bengals and Rams on the offensive line?

If there’s one position the Philadelphia Eagles can hang their hat on, it’s their offensive line. They have multiple Pro Bowlers, two more Pro Bowlers in the waiting, and enough depth to fill in for the retirement of Brandon Brooks, but is it better than the units of the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams?

In a word: Yes.

I know, I know, call me a homer, but of the lines in question, the Rams are clearly better than the Bengals, with one Pro Bowler versus zero, and the player in question, Andrew Whitworth, just turned 40. The Eagles, by contrast, have a long linage of Pro Bowl and All-Pro talents that could eventually feature names like Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, and maybe even Tyler Linderbaum if things shake out well in the draft.

Ranking: First.
The solution? Add another young interior lineman and sign Jeff Stoutland to a lifetime contract.

Sounds simple, right? Well, it really is; keep giving Stoutland quality young players who fit his athletic profile and while they may not all always hit – see Prince Tega Wanogho and Matt Pryor – more often than not, it will result in a good outcome for players like Jack Driscoll, Nate Herbig, and Sua Opeta.

dark. Next. Meeting with Carson Strong is totally normal

So there you go, while the Philadelphia Eagles’ offense isn’t quite there yet, it isn’t a disaster either. With some choice additions via free agency and the draft, Howie Roseman could assemble for Nick Sirianni the sort of offense capable of exchanging blows with the best of the best, even if much of that success will ultimately be decided by how things shake out at quarterback over the next two years.
