Philadelphia Eagles: Offensive rankings versus the Super Bowl teams
Welp, it’s official, Philadelphia Eagles fans: Super Bowl LVI is set.
The Cincinnati Bengals will be taking on the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Los Angeles, California, and I’m sure it will be a very fun time for all of the folks who watch it on TV instead of getting trapped for hours on the 101 heading to the game.
Just for fun, how do the Eagles stack up against those teams, and what areas could they look to address heading into the first round of the NFL Draft, where they have three picks? Are there areas where the Eagles have the best unit of the three? Or is it all doom and gloom in our typically sunny city?
Let’s try to find out, Philadelphia Eagles fans.
How do the Philadelphia Eagles compare to the Bengals and Rams at quarterback?
Alright, right from the jump, let’s get the controversy out of the way: Jalen Hurts is the worst quarterback of the three.
Whether you like Hurts, love Hurts, or hate him right down to his Houston, Texas bones, it’s hard to argue that he’s the same level of quarterback as either Matt Stafford or Joe Burrow, even with his running game thrown into the equation.
While Hurts can unquestionably take a step forward, as much like Burrow, he’s only a second-year pro, right now, he’s the worst of the three.
Rank: Third.
The solution? Sign a quality backup quarterback and draft a developmental guy on Day 3.
I know some fans don’t want to read this, but honestly, it’s hard to see a solution that’s better for the Eagles in 2022. Deshaun Watson is beyond problematic, Russell Wilson isn’t even necessarily available, and none of the quarterbacks in this year’s class are guaranteed to be better than Hurts. Sign Teddy Bridgewater, trade Gardener Minshew, and draft a guy like Jack Coan in the fourth round to develop and live to fight another season.
