The picks: Joel Farabee (14th overall), Jay O’Brien (19th), Adam Ginning (50th), John St. Ivany (112th), Wyatte Wylie (127th), Samuel Ersson (143rd), Gavin Hain (174th), Marcus Westfalt (205th)

Again, it’s still too early to make definitive calls on a draft that happened this recently. But here’s what we do know. Farabee looks like a very good pick. Hopefully he can find another level, but he already looks like a top-6 winger for years to come. O’Brien, on the other hand, was widely acknowledged as a bad pick immediately, and he hasn’t done a whole heck of a lot to change that narrative. Some hope remains, as he’s just 22, but the team needs to figure out what they have in him at some point.

St. Ivany is a legitimate candidate to help out the Flyers’ blueline depth in the coming years, but Ginning doesn’t seem to have developed much. Ersson won’t be anything more than a backup if he ever proves himself to be NHL-worthy, and the three late-round forwards from this draft are all dart throws. I don’t pretend to have inside info on any of them.

Grade: C

Farabee accounts for all of the returns so far, and the grade will most likely be determined in the end by what O’Brien ends up accomplishing.
