The 2021 Philadelphia Eagles rushing game is truly an all-timer.

Heading into Week 18, the Philadelphia Eagles had run the ball 517 times for 2,566 yards and 24 touchdowns.

Those numbers rank second, first, and first league-wide, respectively, and present a feather in the cap of Nick Sirianni, who wasn’t all too keen when it came to running the ball early in his rookie season.

And in Week 18 versus the Dallas Cowboys, the Eagles cemented those numbers forever, as they set a new franchise record for all-time rushing yards in a single season at 2,715, which is 108 yards more than the previous record of 2,607.

Quick, do you know in what year that previous record was set? Yeah, that’d be all the way back in 1949, when the team ran an incredible 624 times in only 12 games of action.

To make matters all the more impressive, the Eagles accomplished this fantastic feat with their starting quarterback serving as their lead rusher, as Jalen Hurts was able to breeze past Miles Sanders‘ yards total once the latter perpetually landed on the injury report with a broken hand. With nine different players earning rushing snaps, including Jason Huntley, who finally played a semi-prominent role in the regular season finale, this record was truly a team effort spurned on by a head coach willing to change up his ethos to help the team win.
