Buddy Hield could finally join the Philadelphia 76ers.

It feels like Buddy Hield has been linked to the Philadelphia 76ers forever.

Hield, a former top-6 pick out of Oklahoma, has seemingly been on the Kings’ block since Al Horford wore a red, white, and blue uniform, has been the apple of Philly’s collective eye since at least 2019, well before corona was anything more than a beer, and the NBA shut down for a dispair-filed five-month period.

Why? Because Hield can flat-out shoot.

Is he a good defender? No. Does Hield average a ton of assists, steal the ball at a high level, or box out in the paint for an effort rebound? No. But he has hit 1,300 3 pointers in his career so far and has a career shooting percentage of 40.3 on an astounding 7.6 attempts per game from beyond the arc. For a team that ranks 21st in points, 27th on 3 point attempts, and 28th in 3 pointers made, the Sixers could seriously use some offensive pop either off the bench or in their starting five, especially in lineups that feature either of their two best players.

If you’ve ever lamented the Philadelphia 76ers’ inability to adequately space the field around Joel Embiid, or the lack of auxiliary options around Tyrese Maxey on drives, there are very few options better in the NBA than Buddy Buckets.
