DeVonta Smith is a technician for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Boy oh boy, it seems like a week doesn’t go by where DeVonta Smith doesn’t do something impressive.

After three relatively low-key games after Thanksgiving, Smith burst back onto the scene with a commanding performance against New York’s secondary, which was missing a few players, but I digress.

Smith hauled in five of the seven passes thrown his way by fellow Alabama product Jalen Hurts and finished out the contest with 80 yards and 14 total fantasy football points.

… oh yeah, and he also caught an absolute gem of a touchdown that has to be seen to be believed.

See what I mean? Spectacular.

On that particular play in question, Smith showcased precisely why he won the Heisman and why he was absolutely the right pick by the Eagles at 10. He ran his route to the pylon, kept an eye on Hurts, and made darn sure to drag his feet in bounds once he hauled in the ball to secure his squad six points.

The play was so improbable that it was reviewed twice and ultimately was upheld, marking the fifth time Smith has made his way into the endzone.

Even if the Philadelphia Eagles are a run-heavy team, having a player like DeVonta Smith on the outside makes the team’s life a whole lot easier and could be incredibly beneficial as the air gets colder and the snow starts falling.
